Freedom Through Forgiveness

March 2011 Newsletter

I would like to share with you a story about love, compassion and the freedom found in forgiveness.

Several years ago I began the practice of forgiveness. No situation, circumstance, or person was immune to my practice. My deep desire to be free from overwhelming pain and suffering propelled me into an intense practice. This practice took me through countless life events and all the way back to early childhood.

Early events in life create a foundation of beliefs about ones self that are the very structure we build our self-view upon. Our early years are what tell us who we are, who the world is, what is safe, what isn't; it forms the very foundation of our identity. For myself, the early years created in me beliefs such as being unlovable, unworthy, not good enough, and damaged. I carried into adulthood negative emotions such as shame, blame, guilt, and fear.

Regardless of our early years, or events later in life, most of us can see a theme in our lives of feeling unlovable, unworthy, or not good enough and we often carry deep wounds that have not been completely healed. We hang on to our traumas and continue to re-traumatize ourselves through countless ways of replaying out the events in our minds, harboring our negative feelings and continuing to believe the story of ourselves that was set so early in life.

So what was the outcome of that practice? I freed myself from that story of being unlovable, unworthy and not good enough. I freed myself from shame, blame, guilt, fear and the deep hurt of multiple losses and abuse experienced at a young age.

Through many challenges, heartache, and a 'dark-night of the soul' I walked through the shadows hiding within and found that when I turned a compassionate eye of love and forgiveness toward myself and others I was able to be free from the pain and suffering. I was able to deconstruct the foundation I had built my life on and rebuild anew. I was able to forgive in such a profound and absolute way I re-wrote the history of my very being on an energetic, emotional, mental, physical and spiritual level. I found a true secret that is available to everyone right here and right now, the power and freedom available through absolute forgiveness. It is a radical type of forgiveness, one that is bone deep and frees one's self on a level that is unfathomable to the mind.

Give yourself this freedom by practicing forgiveness. Step by step, moment by moment, you can forgive, heal, and move forward with your life in a more spaciously joyful way.

I wish you freedom.

I wish you peace.

I wish you joy.
